At Kingley Health we believe that there are multiple healthcare services needed in order to address weight management and chronic diseases initiated by weight or lifetyle.  However, we also believe in small gradual steps are the key to successful longlasting change, which is why we offer all of the lifestyle serv ices you may need to start your journey at the pace you want to start.  You can avail yourself to all of our services or a few of our services.  A clinically trained Wellness Advisor will help you make the determination of what you need now and what you can do later depending on your timeframe and the quality of life you want to achieve.  The Wellness Advisor is also your advocate and support system.  We have found that sometimes the motivator that you need cannot be found within our four walls.  Our Wellness Advisors can help you unblock those road blocks so you can begin your journey.

 

Health Assessments

Health screenings include medical history, lifestyle choices, readiness to change, and mental health status. We test for metabolism, body composition, blood pressure, cardiovascular and pulmonary function, musculo-skeletal dysfunction, musculo-skeletal stability and strength, movement capabilities, and joint flexibility. This information provides our clinical staff with your specific information that is used to develop your personalized treatment program.

 

Resting Metabolic Testmetabolic testing

There are two tests that we offer to take the guesswork out of what your true caloric intake and burn should be.  It is the only way to provide the most accurate nutrition and and physical activity advice.

Resting Mebolic Rate (RMR) Test measures your exact daily caloric expenditure so you know how many calories you can consume a day for weight loss or weight gain.  We measure your oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production for 10 - 15 minutes at rest.  As a part of the RMR test we also will check your blood pressure and your body fat composition by using commercial grade bioelectircal impedance analysis (BIA) technology. Some health insurance carriers cover this test.

Body Composition Analysis (BCA) accurately determines what your body is composed of in terms of how much muscle you have, how much fat, and how much of your body is made of fluids.  Measuring what your body is composed of is extremely important in understanding your healthy, as well as proper goal setting.  This test is also another great measure to track progress.  You will see the percentae of fat go down to a healthy level and an increase in muscle tissue as you go through our program.

VO2 Exercise Test is used for your physical activity program.  It gives as an accurate read of your aerobic cardiovascular fitness.  This test will indicate the amount of oxygen you're able touse during exercise, heart rate response, the precise number of calories your body burns during exercise, and whether fats or carbohydrates are being uses as the primary energy source.  The test also maps your appropriate heart rate training zones, giving us scientific guidelines to determine the correct exercise program to meet your individual goals.

Our nutrition programs, delivered by our team of registered dietitians, ensure healthy eating and proper weight management. We work with you to ensure you know what to eat, how much to eat, and when to eat. Our programs are highly successful at weight loss and maintenance, treatment of chronic disease (augmenting your physician's treatment guidelines), and boosting energy levels. Programs include counseling for both individuals and groups.

We have two program tracks which can be done independently or together.

Our Clinical Nutrition Track, which is our most basic, consists of one-on-one sessions with a Registered Dietitian.  They will go over your needs and give you recommendations.  You will leave with practical advice and handouts to help you on your journey to proper eating.

Our Nutrition Experience track is a fee for service offering which includes experiential activities so you learn how to implement the advice into the real world.  This service can be added on to your Clinical Nutrition program or done a la carte.  Some of the experiences you will enjoy are individualized shopping tours, eat out with a dietitian at fast food places and your favorites restaurants so you know how to read the menu and what to eat, pantry makeovers, learn how to cook in your home, learn how to eat at your office cafeteria, and many more.

We understand that exercising is not fun but it is something that we all know that we should be doing to stay healthy.  In the fitness industry only 14% of the population sign up for the gym and of that only 10% actually go.  The top three reasons people stop exercising:

  1. it's not fun;
  2. it's intimidating;
  3. loss of motivation.

That is why our programs always have four key components:

  1. fun
  2. socially engaging so you are motivated by others
  3. clinically sound so your health concerns and limitations are taken into account, and
  4. results oriented.

Remember when you were a child?  You were physically active.  Did you think twice?  Probably not.  Why? Change is hard.  However, you have taken the first step in making change.  You have made the decision to invest in yourself through time and money.  Our licensed clinical social workers and psychologists are available to help you make the journey you have undertaken become permanent change.  We will explore together in a confidential and supportive environment the questions why and how.  However, we also know that we all have outlets of a different nature.  Some of us like to talk about our situation and have an empathetic ear listen, some of us like to write, some like to paint, some like to cook.  We currently offer writing classes and art therapy classes in addition to our one-on-one sessions for you to unblock and accelerate your growth.
