Counseling & Coping
Rather, human behavior is a complex series of interrelated events. A lack of strong coping skills in dealing with daily life can lead to overeating, weight gain and weight regain. As a result, we developed our programs to include counseling to address the misconception that weight loss is only about eating and exercising. How one thinks, sets goals, and copes with life have profound and often underappreciated impact on weight loss. We believe that while eating and exercise habits are important parts of losing weight, thinking patterns play an equally important role in that journey. Learning or strengthening coping skills assists in dealing with life stressors in a constructive way and supports long-term weight loss. Our counselers are Licensed Clinical Social Workers and are also Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselors. They can help you with weight loss, eating disorders such as anorexia, food and exercise bulemia, and many others. We all need someone to talk to. Sometimes it's easier to talk to someone who doesn't know you and won't judge you. |
