Our diagnostic testing is an essential component in developing the most optimal weight loss program. The series of tests provide valuable data that is used by health professionals to individualize your program for best results. This information provides our clinical staff with your specific information that is used to develop your personalized treatment program.
Height/Weight – Measure your base weight so we can determine proper goals.
Circumference Measurements – Each major body part is measured by an exercise physiologist using measuring tape. The circumference of various body parts provides valuable information and is a great way to track success.
Body Composition Analysis (BCA) - Accurately determines what your body is composed of in terms of how much muscle you have, how much fat, and how much of your body is made of fluids. Measuring what your body is composed of is extremely important in understanding your health, as well as proper goal setting. This test is also another great method to measure and track progress. We want to see the percentage of fat go down to a healthy level, and an increase in muscle tissue.
Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) - Discover the amount of calories your body burns at rest. Resting metabolic rate is the amount of calories you utilize during rest. The body is a machine with billions of cells working even when you are not moving. These bodily processes (heart pumping, organs working, brain working, etc) require energy. Your RMR actually accounts for about 70% of your total energy expenditure in a day. Therefore, this test is extremely valuable in determining the number of calories you need each day, a critical component of your strategy to lose weight. The RMR test will also assess your body's ability to burn fat and carbohydrates for energy, and will inform us whether your resting energy expenditure is where it should be.
The results provide the data needed to create a plan of care specific to your body.
